Our History

In February of 1989 Tom Vasta purchased Village Pizza, which was located at 1 Grant Place in Stamford, New York. This small four booth pizza shop and arcade was the former location of Peterson’s Saw Mill. Tom saw the opportunity to grow his business, and over the course of the next 5 years he added several expansions to the building, including a full-service deli, 80 seat dining room, full-service bar, and an outdoor covered patio area.

In the late 1990’s Tom devised a plan to bring bowling back to the community by purchasing the bowling lanes and machines from the former Scotch Valley Ski Resort, which had been closed for several years. He erected an 8,000 square foot, 10 lane bowling center adjacent to the restaurant. Business continued to grow with the help of his children, who were involved various capacities. An approximately 900 square foot auxiliary kitchen was added to keep up with the increased demands of the business.

Sadly, Tom was diagnosed with cancer in 2012. He passed away in March of 2014, leaving the business and property to his children. In 2015 the dining room was renovated to give it a fresh appearance, and many aspects of the property were upgraded. The business was sold in 2016, however the building and property remain under the ownership of the Vasta Family.
